Our Guiding Principle

When appropriate and legally permitted, rehabilitation and accountability can begin before incarceration rather than waiting until after it.

For eligible individuals, unnecessary detention can interrupt employment, education, housing, family responsibilities, treatment, and other stabilizing parts of everyday life. Our program is designed to provide structure and supervision while allowing participants to continue working toward stability in their communities.

The program combines electronic monitoring, mandatory virtual education, behavioral accountability, and ongoing supervision to create a structured environment in which participants are expected to demonstrate responsible behavior.

Why Pretrial Diversion?

A criminal case can have consequences that extend far beyond the courtroom.

Even a relatively short period of detention can interfere with:

Employment

Missing work can result in lost wages, disciplinary action, or termination.

Education

Detention can interrupt school, training, clinical requirements, or other educational commitments.

Family Responsibilities

Parents and caregivers may suddenly be unable to provide their normal support.

Housing

A disruption in employment or income can place housing stability at risk.

Transportation & Daily Life

Detention can disrupt transportation, appointments, personal obligations, and established routines.

Our program is designed to address these realities while maintaining meaningful supervision and accountability. For an eligible participant, remaining in the community can provide an opportunity to preserve productive responsibilities while demonstrating compliance with program requirements.

The opportunity is real. So is the responsibility.

Instead of asking only, “What punishment comes next?” our model also asks, “What can be done now to promote accountability, responsibility, and rehabilitation?”
